Racers often prioritize comfort and fingertip feel in a glove over a high level of protection. But we all know that's not exactly ideal, which is why we focused on reconciling these opposing demands.
The fingers operating the levers have flexible panels at the joint, which offer no resistance when bending and allow for sensitive brake modulation and clutch control. This reduces tendon strain and minimizes the risk of cramps. The entire glove is anatomically pre-curved for a better grip on the handlebars, and external seams are used for maximum comfort.
The pinky edge, on the other hand, is robust, equipped with an Antishock system made from Viscofoam material with a memory effect. Because the pinky is impacted in the vast majority of falls, it is connected to the ring finger for increased protection.
The palm is usually the part of the glove that must withstand abrasion well. In the palm's construction, stingray leather and 100% original DuPont™ Kevlar® fibers also have their place. The stingray leather, backed by Viscofoam memory foam, protects the scaphoid bone. The palm's structure, including the fingers, is made from very fine Pittards leather, which is also 2x more durable than kangaroo leather.
To protect the knuckles, it was necessary to develop a new protector from a material that is both flexible and abrasion-resistant. The impact energy is distributed over a larger area and partially absorbed by the protector, with additional energy absorbed by the Viscofoam layer beneath it. To ensure the glove fits correctly, the dimensions of this protector correspond to the glove size.
